Jack Frye as Captain of TWA Lockheed Constellation (1946)
Rare and priceless are movies of Helen Frye outside her ranch, however, in the movie featured below we see her at the inauguration of the TWA Lockheed Constellation L049 ‘Star of Paris’ overseas launch. Previously, champagne bottles were used to christen ships and planes, but because of concerns in damage to Constellation aluminum exteriors, Jack Frye insisted they use specially (designed for TWA) fire extinguishers. It would behoove you to see this short, Helen is wearing a leopard skin coat Jack gave her after winning it in a card game! Helen Vanderbilt Frye was very much at her husband’s side in many events and often entertained passengers of TWA Constellations as Mrs. TWA (flight attendant). Currently efforts are underway to reduce size of this video on Personal Computer, but can be viewed better on a reduced page, best viewed on android phone for the moment
